Let's face it, if you want to try and make money on the internet there are more ways than I could ever list.
Also, for every method there is to make money there is 1000 books telling you how to do it. For someone who wants to put extra money in their pocket on a consistent basis, it can be frustrating.
If you truly want to know how to make a profit online, I will share with you the results of many years of trial and error.
Without going into detail, let me assure you that I have tried over 30 different businesses online. I have sold on ebay, owned websites, operated my own affiliate casino, took surveys, typed reports, proof read books and more things that I have tried to forget. I will tell you that I made a little money on almost every method I have tried but the time involved was never worth it. Also, the payout wasn't anything that could make a difference in my life.
Most people who are making money online everyday will tell you the way to make money is through being an affiliate. Being an affiliate simply means that you sell someone else's product and you get to keep a piece of the profits. Sometimes this piece can be quite large.
Even in knowing this, it can be difficult to get started. There are literally thousands of affiliate programs on the internet. Even if you know the correct ones to pick it can still be difficult to make money. There are a few basics that I will cover here.
1. Picking a product - You should always pick an affiliate network. This will give you access to 100's and 1000's of products to pick from. The most famous of these networks is amazon but the commissions are too low for the unseasoned affiliate.
2. Advertising a product - The easiest way to advertise is through Pay Per Click (PPC). The most well known of these is google adwords. These are the ads that pop up on the right hand side of your screen when you do searches. Every time someone clicks on one of those ads it costs the creator of that ad. Make more in sales off of those clicks than you paid in advertising and you just made a profit.
Other ways to advertise a product is to build a website and drive traffic to it through normal search engine searches. Blogs have become popular vehicles to advertise affiliate products.
3. Writing your own product - believe it or not you know enough about something to write a book. If that knowledge is something other people would want to know, you can sell it. This could be anything from how to make homemade beer to how to crochet.
Even if you do not have the knowledge, you can research a topic and gain the information on the internet and turn it into your very own book.
